Post Operation Denture Care

The most important responsibility of a patient is keeping your dentures clean. Like natural teeth, dentures can also attract plaque, become stained, and collect food particles that can cause bad breath. The two best methods of cleaning dentures is soaking and brushing.

Soaking

Use a tablet and soak it in your denture bath. Soak your dentures every night with an effervescent tablet in warm water. Dentures should be soaked in water or a soaking solution when not in use so it doesn’t dry out, change shape, and change the way they fit.

Brushing

Brush your dentures with a special denture brush and specialized denture toothpaste. Ordinary toothbrushes’ and commercial toothpastes are too abrasive and can damage the surface of your dentures.

Rinsing

Rinse your dentures after eating, after brushing, and soaking.
